Akuko Writers Competition 2020 | Deadline Nov 30th

Akuko Magazine is currently open for submissions for their inaugural literary contest. The open categories include poetry, fiction and nonfiction.

Winning entries in each category will receive cash awards of $250, $100, $50 and $25 for first place, second place and third place respectively. The $25 is for additional writers chosen. The winning pieces will be published in their inaugural issue.

Guidelines:

Multiple submissions are not allowed.
No simultaneous submissions.
The work must be original and previously unpublished.
Entrants must be of African origin or self-identify as African.

‍The deadline for submissions has been extended to November 30. Winners and runner-ups would be notified and announced in March 2021.
